We chose to name our app 'Fox.Vet' in memory of Dr. Francis H. Fox and to empower everyone to become the wily diagnostician that he was. By developing a tool that makes learning fun, interactive and visual, we hope to capture the essence of Dr. Fox's teaching methods.

Who was Dr. Francis Fox?

Dr. Francis H. Fox (DVM '45) was an iconic Cornell veterinarian who was an instructor of large animal medicine, obstetrics and surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine for almost four decades from 1953 to 1992. He has often been referred to as one of the most talented diagnosticians to practice in the field of veterinary medicine. In addition to his clinical and teaching skills, he was also known for his sense of humor and his practical jokes.

I play tricks on students, they play tricks on me; that keeps life interesting and alive. So that’s the way it goes, no regrets.
— Professor Emeritus Francis H. Fox

"The Fox Chronicles: Stories of Saint Francis, the Great White Healer' is a collection of stories about Dr. Fox from students, clients, and colleagues over five decades and was presented to the great man himself on his 70th birthday in 1993.
